Founded on the afternoon of September 21, 1939 by the effervescent Lillian Reese and twenty-four prominent women, The Twenty-Five Club was established as a new charitable organization with a strictly limited membership of twenty-five women. These individuals, then and to this day, work tirelessly to support their mission of raising funds to support the groundbreaking efforts of researchers and highly trained specialists to advance the care of infants.
As Lillian Reese once profoundly stated, "The babies of today are our future citizens of tomorrow. Let us hope to give them a healthy start, not for only Pittsburgh or Allegheny County... but for all the babies in all of the world."
Mission Statement: "The purpose of the Club is to support newborn medicine... specifically pre-natal and neonatal research and clinical care supported by Magee-Womens Hospital."
